(1) OVCS Letter Sorting Machine
OVCS Letter Sorting machine is a hi-tech optical-electrical-mechanic product. It adopts the human-computer interaction way to sort the letters, which is quite fit for Chinese letters and can meet the business requirement of China Post. About 66 machines have already been in use in China and cover over 60% market shares.
The machine can be used in the following sorting modes according to its functions of OCR, OBR and the keyboard input by operators:
As an OCR machine, it can sort the letters after the computers automatically recognize the postcodes.
As an OBR machine, it can sort the letters after the computers automatically recognize the barcodes.
As an OVCS machine, it can sort letters by human-computer interaction. The computer first recognizes the postcode, if it fails, the image of the rejected postcode or address will be sent to the video-coding-desk. Then the operator keys in the correct postcode or address according to the image on the screen of the video-coding-desk and the computer will combine the results both from OCR computer and operator to sort the letters.
As a VCS machine, it is up to the operator to sort the letters. The image of the letter’s address is firstly sent to video-coding-desk. According to the image, the operator keys in relative information (generally refer to the stacker code) for the computer to sort letters. Since it is up to the operator to recognize address, this machine can sort the letters with postcode or without postcode.

(2) FSS Letter Processing System
FSS Letter Processing System is a new product capable of sorting randomly-placed letters. It has the following functions: it can change the side of letters to the same face and same direction after the letters pass through the high-speed reversing module; it is equipped with a WIN-TEL platform so it is capable of using new techniques to improve its properties, as well as registered letter processing, audio prompting, alarming, LCD and label printing; it has interface to connect with the post network and some other equipments; and it is capable of demonstrating the recognition of Chinese character addresses.
In a word, this machine is designed for saving labor, place, and money, and improving productivity.
